Raili-Kaarina tells tales about the growing prosperity of Finland in the 60’s when after the war, the country dominated by agriculture developed into an industrialized society. It was typical in the architecture of the era to renounce the old and replace it with new fashion. The big windows, low ceilings and flat roofs were in.
The reservations and maintenance of the Verla cottages and cabins is managed by Repovalkea Oy.
The cottages and cabins are owned and operated by UPM-Kymmene Oyj. The destinations are part of the World Heritage Site.
A nostalgic 60’s wood-framed cottage with large windows and a fireplace, a kitchenette, 2 alcoves and WC. The cottage is suitable for 4 persons.
The four cottages of Raili-Kaarina are located about half a kilometer from the mill museum on the shore of the Vähä-Kamponen lake, downstream of the Verlankoski rapids. Haapa, Pihlaja and Paju are at the end of the same road. Haapa is the furthest of them and the road to there goes from in front of Pihlaja and Paju.

The cottage can only be booked online and the reservation process begins by clicking the “Reserve” button under the main image. If you'd like to book more than one cottage at a time, go to checkout once all of them have been added to your shopping basket.
The cottage is at your disposal from 15 o’clock on the arrival date to 11 o’clock on the day of departure. You may go to the cottage only during the reservation period.
This is a self-service destination.
The Raili-Kaarina cottages (4) and the Pukkila cottage share a lakeside sauna. One sauna bathing turn per day is included in the reservation. You may book your turn online in advance. You will receive further details about booking the sauna on the reservation confirmation email.
Tip: The Arkko cottage has its own wood-heated lakeside sauna.
Further details on how to pick up the keys are provided in the booking confirmation. The keys are in a key box at the cottage. A valid PIN code to the key box will be sent to the customer via text message to the number provided by the customer during the reservation process up to two hours before the start of the rental period.
The customer is responsible for the key throughout the time of reservation. The key must be returned at the end of the reservation to the same key box from where it was taken. Compensation for a non-returned key is charged as per the terms.
The customer is responsible for the cleanliness of the rental property, its yard and related services. The cottage must be carefully cleaned after use so that it’s nice and ready for the next guest to arrive to Verla. The garbage can be disposed of in a sealed plastic bag in the waste container at Seurantalo.
The final cleaning can also be purchased as a service at the time of booking. If the property is left un-cleaned, full cleaning costs will be charged from the customer (see terms).
House-trained dogs are allowed in the cottage. The owner must make sure the beds are properly protected if the dog likes to sleep on the bed. During the final cleaning special attention must be paid to the cleaning of the bedding and the rugs to get the dog hairs out as thoroughly as possible.
If dogs relieve themselves in the yard, the waste must be picked up.
Please specify the dog breed and size when making the booking. Remember also to check the terms for pets before booking.
The customer making the reservation is fully responsible for the entire cottage and also for their friends. Please check out the terms before booking.
