The forestry trail is about 2 kilometres long and demonstrates Finnish forestry, its different stages of development, wood production, wood supply to mills and protection of biodiversity.
The Finnish forestry department of UPM Group, UPM Forest set up the forestry trail in the Verla World Heritage Site in the summer of 2008. The trail has ten points of interest describing different growth stages and nature and landscape preservation. The points vary from a seedling stand to mature forest, including an area of protected forest.
The forestry trail starts from the corner of the parking lot next to the Verla Club House. The wood-chip-covered trail is easy to follow and features some beautiful views of the Verlankoski headwaters.
